The U.S. News & World Report has named MountainView Hospital as a High Performing Hospital, in the areas of Heart Failure and COPD, for 2019/2020. Of more than 4,500 hospitals that underwent rigorous analysis, fewer than 1,500 qualified for any type of award.

The U.S. News & World Report generates hospital rankings by evaluating data on nearly 5,000 hospitals to help patients decide where to receive their medical care. Rankings includes ratings in various adult medical specialties and procedures or conditions. The "High Performing Hospitals" emblem recognizes excellence in one or more types of medical care

To be ranked nationally in a specialty, a hospital must excel in treating and caring for the most medically complex and severe patients. The publication evaluates hospitals in certain procedures and conditions, and assigns each hospital a rating of high performing, average or below average in each procedure or condition. MountainView Hospital has achieved the highest rating possible in two procedures or conditions: Heart Failure and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

"This reputable recognition of the care we provide for patients undergoing heart failure and COPD continues to remind us that every day is about our patients," said Jeremy Bradshaw, MountainView Hospital Chief Executive Officer. "We thank and congratulate our care teams for their consistent dedication to our patients and the quality of their care and safety.

In each of the specialties, procedures, and conditions U.S. News & World Report evaluated, only 10 percent to 26 percent of hospitals were rated High Performing. With the more than 4,500 hospitals that underwent the publication's rigorous analysis, fewer than 1,500 qualified for any type of award at all. MountainView Hospital is among the elite 33 percent that earned an award.
