Ali is all smiles and expressing a thumbs-up, while wearing scrubs in the hospital.

Ali K. was one of MountainView's first employees. His first day was Jan. 15, 1996.

As MountainView Hospital celebrates its 28th anniversary in February, Ali is retiring. Ali has been a dedicated colleague at MountainView and has been a supervisor for the Respiratory department since 2014.

Ali is truly dedicated to his patients and his colleagues.

“In those 28 years, this is not just a job for me,” he said. “I have cared for everyone like they are my own family. It’s about how you care for people.”

Ali said over the years he has worked to impart that philosophy onto new employees and those entering the field.

“I hope the people who worked with me got that message; I always tell them, every single patient, that is your family,” he said.

Ali said he stayed with MountainView throughout his career because he has truly felt he is part of a larger family.

“It is MountainView the family. I have enjoyed every single day honestly and I love it,” he said.

Ali said after 28 years and reaching 65 years old, it is now time to step down and let a new generation come in.

Ali said he is most looking forward to waking up later than 4 a.m., more free time to enjoy life and traveling the world.

Thank you, Ali, for being an Original, and all that you have contributed to MountainView Hospital and the lives you have impacted.
