Information for our visitors

These details are meant to prepare you for your upcoming visit, so you know what we offer and the guidelines we have set in place for you.

Visitation restrictions

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.

Visitor Guidelines

To provide a restful and safe environment, we ask that visitors follow these guidelines:

  • Do not visit if you have a cold, sore throat, fever or other illness.
  • Avoid noisy, disruptive behavior to help respect the healing of all patients. n Ask before bringing foods, drinks, or other items like balloons, flowers or perfume that might trigger allergies into patient rooms.
  • Wash your hands, or use the hand-sanitizer stations, before entering a patient’s room.
  • Make sure all children have a supervising adult (other than the patient) with them at all times.
  • Brothers and sisters of new babies are welcome in the Post-Partum unit. Other children under 16 years of age may not visit.

To promote healing and safety and limit infection, some units may limit the number of visitors you can receive at one time.

MountainView Hospital Quiet Hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Please be respectful to other patients during these hours.

Mother-baby and labor and delivery units

No more than three visitors are allowed in a room at one time, unless cleared otherwise by their physician. If you are considering staying overnight, we allow two parents, guardians or designated family members to do so. Sibling visitation is only allowed with a guardian.

Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

Our NICU welcomes parents to visit 24/7. We also allow two people at the infant's bedside around the clock. Overnight stays are not permitted. If you wish to sleep during your visit, you must stay in a room we’ve designated for you. Visiting hours for all other visitors are from 11:00am to 6:00pm.

Women’s services

When visiting our women’s care unit, we ask that you first inquire with the screener upon entry. You must provide them with your ID, the name and room number of the person you’re visiting and sign in and out each time you come and go. No weapons are allowed inside the unit, and sibling visitations are restricted during RSV, flu and COVID seasons.
