MountainView Hospital performs first facility TriClip procedure
The first TriClip at MountainView Hospital is performed, providing a new option to the community for at-risk patients.
MountainView Hospital is proud to announce that Drs. Jeffrey Levisman and Alfred Danielian have successfully performed the hospital's first-ever TriClip procedure, marking a significant advancement in cardiac care. This minimally invasive treatment for tricuspid regurgitation (TR) offers a promising alternative for patients who were previously considered high-risk for open-heart surgery.
Tricuspid regurgitation occurs when the heart's tricuspid valve doesn't close properly, allowing blood to flow backward into the heart. The TriClip device is designed to repair this valve using a catheter-based procedure, avoiding the need for traditional open-heart surgery. The procedure is typically performed under sedation and can significantly improve symptoms, reduce the risk of heart failure, and provide a faster recovery for patients.
"The TriClip procedure represents a monumental step forward in treating tricuspid regurgitation, offering patients an option that is less invasive and has a quicker recovery time, said Hiral Patel, MountainView Hospital chief executive officer. “We are incredibly proud of our skilled team and Drs. Levisman and Danielian, for their dedication to bringing this cutting-edge technology to our community."
The TriClip procedure is designed for patients with moderate to severe tricuspid regurgitation who are not candidates for traditional surgery. By utilizing the latest advancements in heart valve repair technology, MountainView Hospital is offering new hope for those suffering from this challenging heart condition.
"We are committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients, and the success of this first procedure underscores our ongoing efforts to lead the way in heart care innovation," said Dr. Jeffrey Levisman. "The TriClip procedure is a transformative step forward in treating patients with tricuspid regurgitation, and we are excited to offer it to those who may benefit."
MountainView Hospital continues to invest in the latest medical technologies and innovative treatments to ensure that patients have access to the best possible care. The hospital’s dedicated cardiac team is proud to be able to provide this new treatment option to the Las Vegas community.
