Imaging services
Imaging exams allow radiologists (imaging specialists) and physicians to view structures and activity within the body. This is vital for diagnosis but also for treatment, to ensure your care plan is working as it should.
Imaging centers in Las Vegas
Every step of the way, we prioritize your comfort and well-being during your imaging exams.
At Sunrise Health System, we are equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging technology to help diagnose your condition. Our medical experts cover a wide range of specialties, and offer support by using imaging results to personalize your treatment plan.
Our radiology and imaging services
Our facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology for various specialties, meeting high-quality practice standards in critical imaging services.
Types of imaging tests we provide
Our board-certified radiologists and knowledgeable staff provide diagnostic imaging services on both an inpatient and outpatient basis. Some of these services include:
- Blue light cystoscopy — Allows doctors to see more types of bladder cancer tumors than standard white light cystoscopy
- Chemo embolization and microwave ablation for cancerous tumors — Minimally invasive procedure to restrict blood flow to the tumor
- Computerized tomography (CT) scan — Completed in a 256-slice machine that is commonly used to examine the brain, chest, abdomen and pelvis
- Fluoroscopy — Type of imaging that shows a continuous X-ray image on a monitor, similar to an X-ray movie.
- Interventional radiology — Uses iodine contrast and minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) — Uses high-powered magnets and radio waves to create detailed images of bodily organs and tissues
- Needle localizations/Radio-frequency (RF) tag placement — Used for breast surgeries to locate specific areas within the breast before surgical removal
- Nuclear medicine — Uses radioactive tracers to view bodily functions and diagnose diseases
- Positron emission tomography (PET) scan — Type of nuclear medicine that uses a special dye containing radioactive tracers that you swallow, inhale or inject
- Ultrasound — Uses sound waves to view internal organs, pregnancies, cancers and other disorders
- Wide bore MRI — Open-sided MRI machine that prevents claustrophobia and accommodates those with wider girth
- X-ray — High energy form of electromagnetic waves that helps doctors visualize bones, soft tissues and organs
For outpatient tests, convenient appointment times may be offered so you can fit the tests into your schedule. In some cases, we offer same-day appointments.
Advanced imaging for reduced radiation exposure
We have taken the pledge to reduce our imaging radiation doses for the safety of adults and children. Our staff is engaged in this work, with efforts focusing on:
- Following nationally accepted guidelines to assure that we always give the lowest effective dose of radiation possible
- Preventing accidental or isolated incidents of excessive exposure
- Reducing cumulative radiation dose given to you over time
We also offer no-film environments, featuring a picture archiving communications system (PACS) and computerized radiology. With this, we can keep an electronic record of your radiology images that will be accessible to you and your physician.
Additionally, computerized radiology also offers significant diagnostic quality advantages over conventional film methods.
Cancer imaging services
Testing is crucial for diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Some of the technologies we use to screen for various types of cancer include:
- 3D computer-aided detection mammography
- Blue light cystoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
- CT scans, including low-dose CT (LDCT)
- Endobronchial ultrasound
- MRI, including a wide-bore MRI
- PET scans
- Robotic bronchoscopy
- Wireless needle localization
Cardiac diagnostic procedures
We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic procedures to diagnose and treat issues affecting cardiovascular health, which includes:
- Angiography, both cardiac and peripheral
- Cardiac catheterization
- Echocardiograms (2D and 3D)
- Electrocardiograms (EKG or ECG)
- Intravascular and coronary ultrasounds
- MRIs
- Stress test
- Tile table test
- Ultrasounds (aortic and carotid duplex)
Emergency imaging services
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, advanced imaging and diagnostic services can help us determine the level of support needed and begin intervention as quickly as possible.
Rapid evaluation of those needing emergency care through our triage program ensures we can determine the level of support needed and begin life-saving interventions as quickly as possible. An important part of this process is having advanced digital imaging and other diagnostic services available 24/7.
Pediatric imaging services
We cover a wide range of child-specific imaging services. You and your family can expect a gentle approach from our medical experts and child-sized equipment. The imaging available for adults is also available for children.
Additional imaging for children includes:
- Computerized axial tomography scans (CAT)
- Minimally-invasive procedures
- Pediatric sedation
Women's imaging services
A key challenge when performing breast health services is keeping radiation levels as low as possible. With our advanced equipment, there is no increase in radiation dose from a 2D standard mammogram to a 3D mammogram. We perform a low-dose short X-ray sweep around the positioned breast with nine exposures acquired using a “step-and-shoot” method. This process removes the potential motion from the tube, increasing image sharpness.
We are also proud to offer 3D mammograms. This advanced technology is an important step in detecting breast cancer as early as possible. Additional breast imaging techniques we use include:
- Breast ultrasound — Uses sound waves to look at the inside of the breast
- Breast MRI — Uses radio waves and strong magnets to make detailed pictures of the inside of the breast
- Digital mammography — X-ray picture of the breast used to check for breast cancer
- MRI- and ultrasound-guided minimally invasive breast biopsy — Uses sound waves to locate a lump or abnormality and remove a tissue sample for examination
- Stereotactic breast biopsy — Uses mammography to help locate a breast abnormality and remove a tissue sample for examination
We also offer dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans, an imaging test that measures bone density.
