Neurological care

Neurological care is the practice of medicine that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and function of diseases relating to the nerves and nervous system. Neurologists and neurosurgeons treat disorders that affect the brain or spinal cord.

Complete neurosurgical care

Through our extensive experience and commitment to excellence, the teams within our network deliver expert care. Our procedures address a wide range of nervous system issues from the head down to the feet.

Types of brain and spine surgeries we perform

Whenever possible, we perform surgery using a minimally invasive approach. This diversity of surgical techniques allows us to deliver high-quality neurosurgical care across a variety of focus areas, including:

  • Brain tumor surgery Addresses lesions in the skull base once thought to be inoperable
  • Cerebrovascular neurosurgery Treats disorders of the blood vessels in the head and neck, including aneurysms, vascular tumors, malformations, occlusions and ischemia
  • Craniofacial surgery — Cares for birth abnormalities, trauma and tumors that cause distortion of the face and head
  • Endovascular neurosurgery — Minimally invasive treatment for disorders of the blood vessels in the head
  • Interventional neuroradiology Involves microsurgery inside blood vessels and spinal vertebrae for stroke, aneurysms, tumors, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas
  • Spinal disorder treatment — Used for spinal disorders, degenerative diseases, tumors and infections
  • Stereotactic neurosurgery — Uses computerized tomography (CT) scans or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery — Shrinks or eliminates tumors, aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations

Craniotomy surgery

A craniotomy is a type of brain surgery we use to remove a brain tumor or blood clot. This intracranial procedure helps to control hemorrhaging, relieving pressure inside the skull. We may elect to complete a craniotomy in our dedicated brain lab to treat a severe nerve condition or a traumatic brain injury.

Stroke treatments

In alliance with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association, our network of stroke centers is the first to be certified by The Joint Commission. This recognition continues to be earned through our consistent delivery of comprehensive services, including diagnosing and treating strokes and providing educational awareness around them. If stroke symptoms are present, our teams provide some of the best possible treatment in the area and beyond. We perform preventative procedures, including aneurysm coiling and carotid stinting, as well as provide thoughtful care for ischemic strokes, hemorrhagic strokes and transient ischemic attacks (TIAs).
