Welcome Regina Vaccari as Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications and Cassandra Jones as Director of Media Relations

HCA Far West Division strengthens its leadership team to enhance strategic communications, media relations, and public engagement.

Las Vegas, NV – HCA Healthcare’s Far West Division is thrilled to announce the appointment of two outstanding professionals to its leadership team: Regina Vaccari as assistant vice president of strategic communications and Cassandra Jones as director of media relations. Both bring a wealth of experience, innovative expertise and a passion for effective communication that will elevate the division’s public relations and media efforts.

An award-winning and accredited strategic communications expert, Regina Vaccari brings more than 24 years of experience to the Far West team. With a proven track record in public relations and marketing strategies, she has worked extensively with healthcare clients to align communications with business goals. In her new role as assistant vice president of strategic communications, Regina will lead high-level communication strategies, advising executives on messaging, crisis management and media relations. She will oversee internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with the hospitals’ mission while managing reputation, public affairs and employee engagement.

Prior to joining HCA, Regina served as owner and principal consultant of Vaccari Communications, where she successfully guided clients through strategic campaigns. Before that, she acted as senior director of strategic communications at P3 Health Partners, a national population healthcare company where she led communications efforts across five states.

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Regina has called Nevada home for nearly two decades. A proud graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno’s Reynolds School of Journalism, she holds an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). Regina is also an active member of the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Las Vegas Valley Chapter and serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the YMCA of Southern Nevada. Her exceptional contributions to the field earned her the prestigious Pinnacle Award for PR Practitioner of the Year from PRSA Las Vegas Valley in January 2024.

Cassandra Jones

Cassandra Jones joins the Far West Division as director of media relations with over 15 years of experience in media and public relations. A three-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, Cassandra most recently served as the director of communications and community engagement at Southern Hills Hospital in Las Vegas. In her new role as director of media relations, Cassandra will be the primary contact with the media to share impactful stories of caregivers, physicians and patients across Nevada and California facilities. She will lead media strategy, manage crisis communications and ensure consistent messaging to enhance the hospitals’ reputation.

Before transitioning into healthcare, Cassandra spent a decade at FOX5 Las Vegas, serving as the morning meteorologist and host of the Emmy Award-winning Surprise Squad. Her journalism career began on the Central Coast of California, where she worked as a reporter and anchor.

Cassandra is originally from the California Bay Area and is a proud Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication graduate at Arizona State University, with a minor in Spanish. She also holds a degree in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Known for navigating tight deadlines and delivering compelling stories, Cassandra is eager to leverage her extensive media experience to strengthen relationships with media partners across the Far West Division.
