Las Vegas, Nev. Southern Hills Hospital brought holiday magic to Doris Hancock Elementary School, a Title 1 school in North Las Vegas, by adopting the entire school and providing joy to 420 students. In partnership with JE Dunn and ATM Electric, the hospital raised close to 600 toys, bikes, and clothing items for the students, making this holiday season one to remember.

Doris Hancock Elementary serves a diverse student population, including foster students and children facing homelessness and poverty. Principal Frances Lucero expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the generous donation: "For Southern Hills to step up and donate a toy for each of our students was very impactful and meaningful. It was so touching because some of our students may not have the opportunity to receive something like this."

The initiative ensured that each child could select a gift of their choice, creating moments of pure excitement and joy. CEO Alexis Mussi shared her pride in the hospital's efforts: "To be able to give these children the Christmas they deserve and let them shop for any toy they want makes me incredibly proud to lead this hospital. Our Southern Hills team shows up no matter what and truly stepped up this year. I'm especially grateful to our DEI Committee and colleagues who saw this opportunity and made it a reality. The holidays are all about seeing the children's excitement, and knowing they'll leave with a toy they may not have otherwise received."

While the immediate impact of this initiative was felt during the holiday season, Doris Hancock Elementary plans to extend the joy by saving the remaining gifts to incentivize students throughout the year with testing and reading programs. This ensures that Southern Hills Hospital and its community partners' generosity continues to make a difference long after the holidays.

Southern Hills Hospital is committed to positively impacting the community and fostering connections that uplift and inspire. This heartwarming effort underscores the hospital's dedication to service, compassion, and inclusion.
