Gynecological services
Gynecological surgical treatments
Our gynecology team is equipped to deliver specialized surgical treatments, including minimally invasive hysterectomy and endometriosis resection.
Endometriosis resection — Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that usually lines the inside of the uterus (the endometrium) grows outside of the uterus. Treatment options for this condition may include lifestyle changes, medication or surgery.
We offer two surgical options for endometriosis, both of which can be performed using traditional open surgery or minimally invasive techniques, such as robot-assisted surgery. Endometriosis resection involves removing the tissue growing outside the uterus and leaving the uterus and other organs in place. The second option to treat endometriosis is a hysterectomy.Hysterectomy — A hysterectomy is the removal of the uterus (a partial hysterectomy) or the cervix with the uterus (a complete hysterectomy). This surgery may be performed to treat uterine conditions, such as fibroids, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, uterine prolapse and certain cancers or precancers. It is the most commonly performed gynecological surgical procedure.
We offer you a choice for your hysterectomy. Minimally invasive hysterectomy is a newer alternative to conventional hysterectomies. Benefits of a minimally invasive hysterectomy may include less pain, shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries.
A robotic hysterectomy is even less invasive than traditional minimally invasive procedures because the instruments used have greater flexibility and range of motion. A robotic hysterectomy typically only requires a few small incisions versus a large incision for an open procedure.
