Marlene L., RN, has been a nurse for 43 years, all of that time with HCA Healthcare. Marlene started as a nurse at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center right out of nursing school. She stayed at Sunrise for 25 years before she transitioned to sister hospital MountainView. At MountainView she has worked in the PACU since 2005.

Marlene said she has stayed with one company, and as a nurse for all these years because she feels like she is making a difference.

“It’s been good to me,” she said. “If I had a chance to do it all over again, I’d still be a nurse.”

While caring for others has kept her working as a nurse, Marlene’s biggest passion is her horses. Her current horse is named Keimpe and is a Friesian horse from Holland. The Friesian breed is one of the oldest domesticated horses in Europe! They are known for their very long mane and tail.

Marlene said when she is not at work, she is caring for and riding Keimpe.

Thank you Marlene for your dedication to HCA Healthcare and your patients! Happy work anniversary!
