Orthopedic care

Orthopedists are doctors who take care of the entire musculoskeletal system. They diagnose and treat conditions such sprains, strains, broken bones, arthritis and osteoporosis. Some of the treatments they offer include recommending lifestyle changes, applying casts and performing surgeries, such as ligament repairs or total joint replacements.

Multidisciplinary approach to orthopedics

Our team of orthopedists, nurses and specialists adhere to the highest standards of excellence in orthopedic therapy and treatment. All our physicians are highly engaged in the FLEX program and participate in the preoperative and postoperative education nurse processes.

FLEX program

Through our FLEX program, specially trained, certified orthopedic nurses work with our physicians and rehabilitation team to provide compassionate care for adults with joint and spine disorders.

Our FLEX program offers:

  • Board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons
  • Licensed and certified specialists in our inpatient rehabilitation program
  • Orthopedic and spine program coordinators
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Physician assistants
  • Preoperative education classes

Geriatric fracture program

To preserve quality of life into senior adulthood, our hospital and the American Orthopaedic Association offer a program to prevent recurring fractures.

"Own the Bone" is a web-based program featuring 10 prevention measures that transform the way we respond to seniors with bone fractures. This program addresses how nutrition, physical activity, lifestyle, drug therapy, testing and communication affects geriatrics in need of orthopedic care. It also highlights a protocol developed by the program' medical director to follow the latest guidelines to treat hip fractures. Additionally, the program incorporates "Own the Bone" registry data to tackle underlying osteoporosis conditions and prevent secondary fractures whenever possible.

Rehabilitation unit

Our comprehensive rehabilitation program is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). We provide a continuum of care, complete with physical, occupational, speech, recreational and acute-care therapists with specialized training to care for joint and spine conditions.

Conveniently located on the same floor as the FLEX program, our unit features:

  • Flat-screen TVs
  • Music channels for meditation and relaxation
  • Open visiting hours for your convenience
  • Orthopedic recliners and hand-held showers
  • Private rooms overlooking the Las Vegas Strip and nearby mountain ranges

We understand joint and spine surgery is an important decision you and your family have to make. Throughout the entire process, we are here for you and encourage you to reach out with any concerns. Our certified pain management nurse will proactively address any needs before surgery, and an orthopedic nurse will act as a navigator throughout your journey with us, answering any questions you and your loved ones may have along the way. We are also happy to offer tours of our unit upon request.

Education and safety during recovery

We believe this level of education is essential to having the best possible results.
